boker plus ????

I'm pretty sure they are all made in Taiwan. I just got my Automat Kalashnikov Boker Plus and it's cutting well despite its manufacturing source.

My Mom, who was born in Regensburg, Germany, told me years ago that the Chinese are excellent craftspeople. I have no complaints with Boker knives, no matter were they are made. So far-- so good!

I think so too, but it's easy to relinquish some quality if profits are the bottom line. I'm glad Boker has a good handle on their overseas manufacturing and with that they will have me as a customer as long as that quality doesn't drop.

RW--- I just got the Trance. AWESOME! Did you check out the Spyderco page RE: China? Very interesting. Later.

are these blades made in china? im looking at the Armed Forces Folder

I'm 99% sure that all the Boker Plus knives are made in Taiwan.
(The three models I've seen are; but I've not seen the Armed Forces Folder)

The Boker Magnum knives are made in mainland China.

You can phone Boker USA in Lakewood, Colorado at 1-800-835-6433 to be sure.
I've found them to be very helpful.

Pretty nice looking knife.

Is is a framelock or a liner lock?

BTW, I find that knives made in Taiwan are generally excellent quality.

Razorwind--- Spyderco Page under TENACIOUS. Read it. Does this help?

I believe all my CLB designed Bokerplus knives I have so far are made in Taiwan (with the exception of the Subcom Fixed in 440c).....
I have Taiwanese-made Bladetech folders (the Lite versions of the MLEK, Prohunter), Kabar Dozier folders, Spyderco Salsa and "S" ..... they are all well made just like the ones i have from Bokerplus...

Hey Razorwind, where did you pick up the Automat Kalashnikov? I didn't know they were out yet.

I saw them at Knifecenter, but I have to shop local (I'm in Canada) as my government (I've lost two knives to them) has an issue about my folders but not enough of one against the crime on my streets.

Returning to the original question, I own both large and small Armed Forces and the blade is clearly marked "China". I can only assume that if it were made in Taiwan it would be marked "Taiwan". They are actually really good values for what they cost. I loaned the small to my son who works in construction and he won't give it back!

I agree; knives that are made in Taiwan have "Taiwan" printed/etched somewhere on them.

The Boker Plus Automat Kalashnikov 101, despite having the word "Automat," does not indicate this as being an automatic knife. With that aside, let's continue.
The blade is 4" long and made of 440C stainless steel. The handle is made from FRN (fibreglass, please correct me if I'm wrong) and is not too big in my hand (I'm 6'0" and 197lbs.). The ergonomics are comfortable and I've been using it to whittle wood, cut cords and slicing vegetables, I've been going from one task to the next without the blade giving me any trouble at all. The weight of the knife is nice and balanced, and will not pull on your pockets.
The bonus feature of this knife is the window breaker point at the end of the handle.
Overall, a solidly built knife from Taiwan, with decent edge retention and good heft. I plan to keep this with my camping gear as I think it will make a good general purpose folder for the outdoors.
