I ordered up a Pry-Mini a few days ago. I was really going back and forth for the better part of a month on whether I should buy the Mini or the regular Pry-Mate. I finally decide on the Mini since it was going to be my first in pocket fixed EDC. Plus, it would give me the excuse later on to eventually purchase the Pry-Mate.

I have not received the knife yet, but I know I will not be a fan of the Kydex sheath. I appreciate their purpose and place in the knife community, but I do not want one for an in the pocket sheath. I was sad to see one of the Vox mini Chinese variants came with a nice leather sheath. I almost snagged that one.

So, I am just rambling wishing I had my new knife. If anyone out there in Boker forum land has a Vox blade, please share pics and stories. :D

It's a beautiful knife. I am a big Jesper Voxnaes fan. I have one of his customs, his card holder, and a few of his Boker production knives. I order the Pry Mini yesterday to EDC and am very excited. How is it holding up?

It is holding up very well. After the mini, I also bought the larger Pry Mate. I alternate carrying them for edc. I love them both.

The steel used on these knives is a very hard steel. It is one of the hardest steels I have had to try and sharpen. The edge retention is amazing though. :)

Thanks for the info! Considering the thickness it's not too bad. I may have to grab one because I have a soft spot for small fixed blades. Maybe get a small leather pocket sheath instead od the kydex?

I too have been pricing out leather sheath for the prymate haven't had a lot of luck yet.

I've had my larger-size PryMate for a few years. One odd observation - because of it' .28" spine and exaggerated hollow ground edge, it permits fine slices of over-ripe grape tomatoes! Serious fine slicer. The somewhat similar Vox-designed Boker Plus 'Rhino' with the stag handle does come with a leather sheath.
