I notice Boker will up-grade a knife now and then, like the WW1 trench knife. Would there be an interest in a up-dated Sodbuster? Meaning: an adjustable pivot screw, screw construction and a pocket clip. Yay or Nay. Thanks.

Sorry for the BTB post. I guess the answer is Nay, on my latest knife idea!!! An overwhelming Nay! Oh, well.

SODBUSTER? - That's one funny name and I like it! If they do release another one I'm sure they'll change the name though.

Bummer! ;)

P.S. The SODBUSTER style is pants (;)) IMO. I really don't like it and if BOKER thinks that the market isn't there they probably won't do a 2008 version.

Topspeclt---Thanks for the reply. What got me thinking about the "New" Sodbuster was I've noticed an interest in that knife again. But for me, I would prefer no brass liners, an adjustable pivot screw and the pocket clip. This is a proven design that could be improved upon but basically keeping the same design. And, maybe add a CPM steel. I don't think it will happen. Lycosa OUT!

You have some interesting ideas but I think it would deviate too much from the traditional Sodbuster design.

I'm glad you like the knife, everyone has their own tastes and preferences.

I personally, wouldn't buy the knife, ever. Maybe I'm into tactical knives too much I don't know.

You say that there is more interest in this particular knife - how did you find out that info'? For me, the choice of Knife magazines in the UK are 'limited' to say the least!

On BF, there is a Traditional Knives Forum. Soddies have always been popular and now there is an up-swing in their interest again. The guys and gals are great on that forum. A custom maker offered to make my Nolock designed folder and he is working on it now. I'll ask him to post a pic. Talk later!!

Sorry for the BTB Post... BUT, Boker should really think about doing a Sodbuster up-grade. I've been looking at various Soddies and overall, I would like to see "better' quality. If this classic, proven design would just be manufactured to a higher standard, the Sodbuster would be back in demand. The ergonomics of this knife are excellent! Can you imagine using G-10 or Micarta for the handle slabs? Offer a Top blade steel and you're good-to-go! Thanks--I'm done! :)

Persistent aren't you :D. I thnk that would be an interesting design. It sounds something like a benchmade NRA design that I've seen. I'm pretty sure that it has a clip and thumb studs, but it's a slipjoint knife similar to the sodbuster. I'll find the link here to give an example:

I hope this is something that you would be looking for. It has micarta handles and D-2 tool steel too, that should get you into the "CPM" range, lol. Hope this helps, J.
