I recently ordered the Boker Solo in CPM-3V. I'm stoked that the Solo was done in 3V because I didn't really want the N690BO version. Anyways here's some info on it. I'll post pictures when I get the knife.

Overall length: 8 5/8"
Blade length: 3 3/4"
Weight: 6.1 oz.

From Boker's website:

"Our search for more powerful steels has so far led us to the very rare powder metallurgy CPM-3V from Crucible Steel. This non-stainless steel offers extreme impact resistance and exceptional cutting performance, and is hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 62-63 HRC, which makes it an exceptional blade steel for our Boker Solo by Jens Ansø. The flat ground blade is satin finished and gives the knife, in combination with the gray coated aluminum handle, a discreet and elegant appearance. A real workhorse! Also features a liner lock mechanism and reversible pocket clip (tip-up / tip-down)."

This is a Jens Anso knife design; Anso is a Danish knife maker and industrial designer who began making knives in 1988.

What do you guys think?

For a moment there I thought this would be a Boker version of the Direware Solo. That would have been very interesting to say the least.

I'm not digging the weight for that blade length, especially given that it's an aluminum handle. There are titanium bolstered, full double liner knives that weigh less than that for a similar blade length.

I'm not digging the price of $255.00 either. Given that dealers seem to have discounted the N690 version by about $90, that would put it at $165 from dealers.

Yeah, I forgot about the Direware having the same name. It does seem a bit heavy, but I like larger knives so I'm used to the weight. I ordered it through my local shop so I'm curious to see what the final price will be. I'm guessing $180-$200

If it really has a tip-down carry possibility I am stocked! Too little high-end production folders are giving that option lately.
