Boker steel hardness

I was just at the Boker USA site, and they say the carbon steel they use is 1095, and that they're hardening it to Rc 59 (that's a bit higher than I expected).

Does this comport with your experience with Boker carbon steel knives?
 
Hi Keith!

I thought it would be closer to 56-58, but 59 is a little hard, but should not make a difference unless you are using it as a pry bar.

I have not had any problems with any being to hard, or hard to sharpen.
