just got one of these for christmas from the mrs...it's been my edc since...I really the look and feel of it so much so that I went and ordered another one witha slightly different handle...(yet to arrive) my question pertains to quality, How decent are these knives in comparison to other production slippies?? when I open the blades it feels as if there is no tension at all (weak springs??) yet once the blades are open they are rock solid..the whole knife has a very thin profile which makes it quite comfortable for pocket carry despite its 4 inch closed length...I'm strongly considering making this my year long user...but wanted to collect some opinions first, thanks...

I have a Boker Copperhead that I got last summer - it was my first traditional slipjoint. The springs on mine feel the same as you describe; sort of a lack of tension while opening, but they snap into position firmly. I also have a small, beat up Boker stockman that I found in the road, which has the same feel too. I'm no expert, but I don't think it's a durability issue as much as Boker trying to make them smooth and easy opening, since it seems consistent between the different knives.

By contrast, my new Queen gunstock requires quite a bit of effort to open. I like the solid feel of it, but I'd sure appreciate a longer nail pull instead of just a nick.

The Bokers I have lacks half-stops too, so that makes them seem less snappy compared to my Case peanut and Queen gunstock.
