So, here's our first batch of strawberries form the downtown farmer's market, worked over & prep'd with the Boker Blues sent to me. It's not the first job this knife has done; purging vines out back was the first, and it excelled. I haven't had to sharpen it yet, although it is dragging the cut just a little. I'm probably going to have to stone it here soon. Not a very respectable phone pic, but it gives you an idea of how our Sunday evenings go...

So, ante up, ya'll. I keep hearing about all the kitchen prep the traditionalist's here put their knives too, so let's see some of the first harvest (and of course, the sharpened "eye candy" used) you guys have out there. :)

I got one from Sunnyd in a contest a while back. It's razor sharp and it's going to do a bunch of gardening this summer --- thanks for the picture.

Are those really big strawberrys, or is that the smaller of the two sizes the Boker came in?

That's a big Boker (4.5") so they must be growing those strawberries hydroponically along with whatever else they have growing in the basement. ;):p

Glad to see you getting good use out of it, Chris!

It's the large Sodbuster, and the berries are fairly large; these are first harvest. The gigantic ones will hit the market in a couple more weeks. I had three last year that were 3" across, and 3-1/2" tall.

Everything is "ground-grown", according to the guy I buy from. He's a die-hard 60's dude...I'm not sure I want to know what he grows in his basement. He'd probably be risking arrest if he told me. ;)

So, the Boker passes muster; next up for review is the A.G. Russell kitchen knife I bought for my wife.

thx - cpr

ps - neeman: the patina is there, and getting richer by the day. I'll post a better pic of the blade in another week or two, along with some of those humongous berries.
