Hi,

I know that knives for self defense is a touchy subject so I will try to proceed with caution. It seems to me that the Boker Subcom is designed and marketed as a self defense knife is that correct?

I am not trying to use it as an SD tool; rather I am merely trying to find out why I always end up pulling out my flash 1 instead of the subcom 99% of the time. Seems to be that the subcom was not designed primarily as an EDC tool like the flash or other knives of that size.

CLB (Daywalker) is an awesome guy, he hangs around once in a while and is good people. As far as why you keep pulling our a Flash 1, I would venture to guess because you just don't want to pony up for a real knife yet/watched Nutnfancy rave about it... ;):D
The Subcom is a good knife for EDC, it opens packages, cuts tape/straps/rope just fine. The steel is easy to sharpen and doubles as a moneyclip. It's not a food prep knife...

Ah okay. I looked for subcom threads but i didn't find much. I guess I will look for the CLB (Daywalker) threads instead.

Well in my defense at least my sog flash has the TiNi coating and serrations which nutnfancy hates :D And who said that the sog flash 1 wasn't a real knife? :p
