Just aquired a little Boker Subcom Titan yesterday, got it for $35 and it is worth every penny.
It came very sharp, will shave hair pretty well and plenty sharp enough for me to put it in my pocket without a touch up needed.

It is incredibly light and thin, very easy to carry and pretty comfortable to use, I could probably clip it to my sock and not notice it (but why would I want to do that?). The titanium handles are well finished and quite easy on the eyes, at least until they get scratched up. This knife offers a very secure grip, once you hold it firmly, it isn't going anywhere.

The blade is very thin and quite a slicer, yet it doesn't feel fragile, most likely due to its short and stubby profile. I also like the finish on the blade, its like a very fine brushed finish that feels very smooth and looks nice.

The thumb studs are easy to use and the blade opens quickly and smoothly with a very satisfying "click" which is both very audible and reassuring. The lockup is great and feels solid, more solid than a knife this size needs to but its nice all the same.

This seems to be an overall well bulit and designed knife, capable of edc chores without taking up much space or scaring people when used in public, it also has a uniqueness due to its shape and size and also the Ti frame.
A great buy in my book:thumbup::D:thumbup:.

Hope this short review will help somone who is looking at one of these decide if it is right for them.
Thanks for reading.

Good review -- thanks!

How is blade centering on yours?

My dealer said all eight of his were off-center. He sent me what he described as the best -- one with about 60/40 centering.

He was right on the mark about that.

My understanding is that the Subcom Titan is Boker's upscale version of the regular Titan.

Like some of the other Boker Plus models I've tried -- especially the Trance and the Exskelibur series -- I really like the design of the Subcom Titan.

The execution is not quite as good as the design but it's decent -- and more than decent for the $$, I'd say, at least on the Subcom Titan version.

Blade centering is off showing bias towards the non-locking side, which is probably due to the frame lock putting pressure on the blade. Its not an issue with me, and its not bad enough to rub the liner so doesn't effect function in the least.

The Titan is the upgraded version of the Subcom, the blade finish is polished/brushed instead of bead blasted and the handle is made of Ti, also I think the blade steel on my old Subcom was Aus-8, this one is 440c, might be wrong about the Aus-8 though.
The Titan is quite a bit lighter due to the Ti.

You think both handles are Ti? I'm not sure.

I think your diagnosis of the centering issue is correct and no, it isn't at the point where it's bothersome.

I've read a quite a bit of threads about the Subcom coming with the blade being uncentered and none having mentioned that this is not correct. Researching 2" knives again have me crossing the Subcom.

The blade on the Subcom is chisel grind; it's not supposed to be in the center. The blade lays flat to the right scale opposite the clip. Like a razor.

Most of the Subcom appear uncentered cause the blade shape is uncentered. That's by design.

Just noting for future reference, in case this ever comes up. This knife shouldn't be knocked for this reason, that's for sure. It's an awesome knife with a quality build.

Update -- the frame lock on my Subcom Titan soon failed.

When I contacted Boker USA, the response was: "Maybe you got the version without a lock."

Do you indeed have the non-locking version? Boker does indeed make the "Subcom 42", which is a slip-joint variant of the frame-lock Subcom.

Thanks -- I'm always happy to view one of Stefan's excellent vids -- I wish he would make more.

The lock on my Boker Subcom Titan worked when I got it -- and then it didn't.
Draw your own conclusion.
