I thought they were kind of nice small utility knifes, they are pretty cheap, <$40 easily, but are they any good? I had the AUS-8 straight bladed one.

I have one (AUS-8, drop point blade). It is a really neat knife for a great price. For the size, it really fills your hand, great jogging knife. The steel is great, sharpens up real sharp, with get through everyday chores with ease (very similar performance to 440C in my opinion). The design is well thought out, and teh quality is very high. One thing that is difficult is one handed opening, but thats no big deal for a tiny knife.

I agree with both of you. I like to carry the Subcom, it's a reliable little worker. I am also happy with the Trance, for the same reasons. Just a little larger than the Subcom, but similar construction and slightly thicker blade.

I've got the Wharcom version. The Wharncliffe blade is just amazing and extremely sharp point. Excellent for precission cutting.

I love my Subcom (normal version). It's one of my favorite and most carried knives. I don't have any problems opening it 1-handed (I have about medium hands). Blade is very sharp and for the price, it's quality of construction and machining is great. I think it's one of the best values available, especially for someone looking for a sub-2" blade folder that's comfortable to hold.

I've been carrying the Wharcom version with a Mercop lease for a couple of months as my EDC. It cuts like a mini Yojimbo and doesn't scare the "sheeples" as much. It takes a while to get the one hand closing down as the liner lock extends only 1 mm. from the handle. Overall I'm happy with it. It's like my Pug, you get a lot in a little package!

I've got the Subcom and the Wharcom. I'm very happy with both. They both have a nice, thin edges that cut very well. They're small, light, and the grip is very secure. I found adding a small lanyard gave me something to grab with my little finger.

I'm carrying the Subcom right now -- it's one of my office knives (< 2.5" blade).

I've got the Subcom CE folder (black) -- I carry it everyday -- I use it as a money clip to hold my 'honey do' list for the weekend.

It cuts very well , the size is great!

You won't be disappointed

Got a Subcom for X'mas. Great knife for people who don't like knives. Also very sheeple friendly. Ended up giving it to my son, who am I bulshiting...he took it.
