Looks like an interesting little knife. Any thoughts, experiences? Was thinking of maybe picking one up.

I suggest to visit Bokers section here in the Manufacturer forums. You can find a lot about SCF in. Have one myself, and its a part of my EDC, great folder.

I keep mine on my desk along with a Trance and an M-Type. The Subcom is incredibly handy because of its size but also because the blade is shaped for strength. It's thin enough to be very sharp and it's easy to control with a finger along the back all the way to the point.

I'm looking forward to getting a Subclaw myself, and once you pick up an original Subcom and then look at the variants, you'll see one or two others you "need". :D

As 224477 said, check out the Boker forum. Whole threads there on the Subcom, and pictures of mods to them, also.

Thanks a lot fellers (helpful as ever :) ), and particularly for pointing me in the direction of the Boker forum, which for some reason I'd missed. I think I'll definitely be getting a Subcom - but now I have to decide which variant to get first (I like the look of the FB too! :) )

The only issue I have with it is that the material between the pivot pin and the frame-lock is really thin, but that's just a matter of personal preference. It's a tough little knife with a lot going for it. I don't own one yet, but chances are I'll end up with both the Subcom and the Wharcom by the time the summer rolls around. Like Esav said, you'll end up "needing" more than one! :D

The Subcom family are brilliant little guys . The Trance is also pretty nice ! Best thing Boker has brought out in years !

I just take the Subcom Folder for granted now. It's a regular carry piece bacause it tucks away so easily and it can do so much without being intrusive or obvious.

Since I got the M-Type, that's become a BIG favorite, switching off with the Military, but honestly, I think the Trance is the best of all of them. A little bit larger than the Subcom with a more multipurpose blade shape, and large enough for most daily tasks.

If the blade looks strange to you, go for the new drop-point Trance.

Personally, I find the Wharcom version to be a generally more useful choice is you want maximum utility out of the blade. Easy to sharpen as well.

I have the little Subclaw. It is the first framelock that I have really given a chance.

WONDERFUL knife. There are some good reviews to be found on these. I'm now trying to choose between the Subcom and Wharcom. The Wharcom is in the lead...slightly.

But...that Trance is looking mighty sweet...
Esav mentioned the Trance's blade shape. I wondered about it... it looks "utilitarian." Is that your impression, Esav?
