I tried to run a search on the above knife, but came up empty...literally. I think something is wrong with the "search function". Anyhow, can you explain to me how the Boker BO061 Tactical Action knife works? Thanks!

Do you mean an T4 tactical???
I could not find your number B0061

I just looked at my catalogue it definitely is the knife above. The knife is a double action;it can be convert to be an automatic(firing switch is in the center of the rubber pad) and also function as a normal manual liner lock knife.

How does it work if it is not an automatic convert? Is there a purpose for the switch if it's not an auto- convert?

The Boker Action2 knife is like all other imported boker knives in that they are not automatic but can be converted to be an automatic knife.

This knife was featured in the September 2007 issue of Tactical Knives and as far as I know this is how it works.

The blade is simply opened(if converted to Automatic) by pressing the round center of the rubber pad on the left side of the handle. This rubber pad or insert prevents dust and dirt from getting into the firing mechanism. On the left side of the handle is a oval shape cutout near the spine, this is the safety switch to prevent an accidental firing of the knife. In it's rearward position,it's automatic capabilities are deactivated.

In the article,it does mention that this is a double-action knife. In that it's auto capabilities are meant to be concealled. As far a I know the knife, the knife can be opened manually by using the thumb stub and is locked opened by liner lock. And closed by disengaging the liner lock. It's a fair assumption, that the manual version without auto means, the button and switch are redundant.
