For no specific purpose I’m in the market for a new fixed blade. I was initially looking for a reproduction military type knife (Boker M3 caught my eye), but I then found a hollow handled Boker. Both are made in Taiwan, which I no problem with, but I currently don’t have anything to compare them to...my only Boker is a Petite Urban Trapper. Aside from the cocobolo looking a little dry, I like it very much, but it isn’t a Taiwan made model. So what do you say members, are these knives worth considering?

I have a strike that has been my daily carry for a year with no complaints. With the moving parts on it I would think there stands to be a bigger chance of failure if it's gonna happen.

I don't think I ever got a Boker knife, but I've never had any problems with any other brand knives made in Taiwan. Quality is usually very good.

In general, knives made in Taiwan regardless of brand, are of a quality level that you don't need to worry about it.

Sorry to piggyback but does anyone have experience with Bokers Vg 10?
My urban trapper is VG-10. I don’t know the numbers, but I feel safe saying it’s ran a bit softer than what Spyderco does.

Thanks for the response. I have only heard little mentions of it before but that seems about right.

I wasn’t saying anything negative about their VG-10, of course I don’t push that little folder hard, but it works just fine for daily tasks and will get wicked sharp again with nothing more than a dozen or so swipes on a strop.

Hmmm. See I keep looking at the Boker LRF because I really like the design and the two flipper methods. I think it just looks really good. I don't care if it's a super steel just that it is done decently.
