Boker Trance - First Impressions (small review)

Hey folks,

Just got my first Boker Trance and I love it. I ordered a drop point PE model and Mr. Sneakyman threw in a clip point with a black blade. Thanks very much Chad. I love these knives so much I just also ordered a Wharcom and I will grab up a Subclaw soon too.

I'm very impressed with the Trance. Lockup is perfect and the size is also perfect. I've been carrying the drop point Trance for 3 days now and I just can't put it down. It's a great little knife and the full flat grind makes that baby cut like a light saber. It was shaving sharp right out of the box. I couldn't resist throwing in some pictures so I hope you all enjoy it.

The drop point is going out to Potterma to get some green canvas micarta scales with holes drilled in the front so they match the holes in the back of the handle. I don't want to mess up my first attempt at modding a trance so I figured I would send it to the Trance expert.

Thanks Chad. You have proven knife designs and they feel great in the hand. I love the flipper/guard. There is just no way that your hand could accidentally slide forward onto the sharp part of the blade. And I love the fat thumb studs. The Trance is really a great knife. I even did a little YouTube video on it.

Congrats on your Trance. Nice pictures!
Trance is definitely my favorite knife of them all and seeing your pictures makes me hope that there will be bigger version of fixed blade Trance in the future.
 
My favorite Knife designs Come from The Aloha State, (Chad and Ken!) The Trance is a great looking knife, I love the blade profile. I would love to see the Trance design upscaled to a 3 1/2 " blade. Would love to have this as a AO.

Thanks for all the compliments. Now I've got a Wharcom that should arrive tomorrow and I'm gonna have to get me a M-Type soon I can see. :)
 
I just wanted to say that I've been carrying the Trance for about 5 days now and it's just awesome. I've been carrying the black one. It's one of the best knives that I've ever had. Usually that is a comment reserved for Spyderco. Seriously. The Trance is a really really good knife.

Glad you are enjoying my collabs with Boker. I must admit however, it is rather odd hearing you talk about anything else but Spyderco or a SAK. But that is a GOOD thing IMHO.;)

Hey Chad,

Thanks bro. Boker took care of that fluke DPT. I'm gonna post some pics in the thread about it so folks can see the nice job.

Yeah, it's mostly Spydies and SAK's for me.....well not anymore. :D
