Boker Trance....lefty ability?

I have searched around for a bit but havent found an answer. I was wondering if anyone with a Boker Trance could try using it with your left hand, I'm just worried about the ability to open it fast with the left hand due to the frame lock.

TIA

The thumb studs on the Trance are very large and easy to get to, in fact they act like a wave feature. I don't see how a frame lock would hinder you being able to open it quickly, it could be a pest to close left handed tho.

Closing isnt really what I was worried about, I can usually close liner and frame locks fine left handed. I was worried because I bought a kershaw leek, and it was almost impossible for me to use the thumbstud to open it because it was right up against the frame.

I just received one 2 weeks ago... Flips open pretty okay for me. I tried adjusting the pivot to loosen it up a little but that only ended up affecting the centering of the blade (rubs the frame a bit). Closing is ok too but then framelocks and liner locks have always meant a compromise for lefties. Thumbing the lock open I usually let the blade's unsharpened portion rest on my thumb before moving my thumb out of the way to close the blade fully. With practice this gets easier. Very slim knife and extremely pocketable.

lone: take it apart and lubricate it. I had the EXACT same issue and a little bit of wd-40 fixed it right up.

and it has a flipper, there is no reason you cant use it left handed. the studs are large but the left one is slightly harder to get to, though not too much.

closing is going to be your issue.

There is plenty of thumb stud exposed on the framelock side. I'm not even a lefty and I could flick it open left handed.

Thanks for the tip bro...

Will have a go at that tonight when the family is asleep. I love flippers a lot more than thumbstuds now. It's a God sent for lefties... On this knife it does need a bit more flick. Lets see if I can fix that.

the blade is too light and too short to flip out without your wrist. knives that can be flipped have their blade's weight further away from the pivot to help with momentum. chad even says so on his site.

Dont worry,it works either way.
I am left-handed and it opens with no lack of speed compared with my friends (all "right" people??) that have used my Trance.
I reckon it could be easier and faster using the left hand because the scale on that side is plain s/steel?

Perhaps, I was just worried the frame lock got in the way.
