Boker Trapperliner Mother-of-Pearl

I need some help please. I just bought a Trapperliner Mother of Pearl. It is a beautiful knife, but my thumbstud is made of black plastic material, and not metal as I have seen on line and in my magzines. Does any one know if this was a repair, or was the knife sold like this? It is a model BO-4712. Any help is appreciated. I am trying to see if I was sold a lemon for a NIB.

Actually, it was made like that, and none of them had metal thumbstud.
All of them were plastic, just two different colors of plastic.

I have a Copperliner with a plastic stud as well.
