I need some help please. I just bought a Trapperliner Mother of Pearl. It is a beautiful knife, but my thumbstud is made of black plastic material, and not metal as I have seen on line and in my magzines. Does any one know if this was a repair, or was the knife sold like this? It is a model BO-4712. Any help is appreciated. I am trying to see if I was sold a lemon for a NIB.

I thought they were all plastic. I could be wrong. You could make a metal one and screw or press it in the existing hole. If there is a hole!

I have the Red Bone handle version, and the thumbstud matches the bolsters. I appreciate the feed back. I was able to find one on 888knives that looks black vs. the nickel color of the red bone I already own. Just seems odd to place a plastic thumb stud on a knife that sells for twice the amount of the red bone.
