Just wondering if anybody knew what the TS stands for on the Boker TS line and are they made in Germany? Thanks.
Jim

Well i can answer the second question, the Boker, Boker Tree Brand, and Boker Cinch are made in Germany, the Boker Plus, and Boker Magnum are made in China, and Boker Arbolito is made in Argentina.
The TS has me stumped....you have to use two hands to pen the TS ones, I dont know.

A trip to their website will most likely disclose the meaning of TS - that's where I'd start looking.

I've looked just far enough to discover that Boker evidently issued a "Tang Stamp Series" sometime in the relatively recent past.

I don't know how or why (yet!), but I'm guessing that's what the "TS" on a Boker blade indicates.

Anyone else have more clarity?

It's their new line of traditional knives and should be Ts which stands for Traditionals. or so their Web Site says. Oh - made in Germany.

Thanks, Ed. I was editing my post above to reflect that the "Tang Stamp" series was an exclusive for a (non-BF-supporting) dealer, with each knife sporting both a current Boker shield and one from the company's history), but a database error caused me to lose the edit. I'd just gotten as far as seeing that there are newly-designated "Boker Ts" that were undoubtedly what the OP was probably asking about instead, but without knowing what that meant....

I appreciate the information, and am glad to see the "made in Germany," mostly because Boker has been able to maintain fairly consistent good quality there through the years.

That's where I started. After reading the replies to my post I went back and looked again. I still don't see it but will take your word for it. Thanks to all.

Yes, they made several patterns in the Tang Stamp series 4 or 5 years ago. Most were red bone and green bone, so you may see boxes that have "TSR" or "TSG". All that I know of were made in Germany.

But one caveat about what is made in Germany these days. I have seen several Bokers made in the last year that do not have Germany on the box (new style) or tang; but have "Germany" on the shield in tiny print. My philosophy these days is that "Made in USA" or "Made in Germany" is such a selling point; why not mark it that way if legally possible. If it says "soligen steel" or "german steel" or any other variant that doesn't leave me with a warm and fuzzy I don't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Have seen many that worried me in the Hen & Rooster line as well.

Interesting observations-- thanks. I've read elsewhere speculation that some Boker knives were (are?) a mix of German production and assembly elsewhere, ie, "Made in Germany," but ... not really.

Back to the "Ts": upon closer inspection, it looks like Boker has either renamed or more "officially" named a certain line that was previously described as "Hybrid"-- knives with a prominent "TREE BRAND" stamp but not even a mention of Solingen on the blades.

The exact images were used for the Hybrids are now being used for the Ts:

Hmmmm.

That's what I was sort of wondering I guess. I very recently got a smooth red bone Boker copperhead. The only thing on the knife that said Germany was the shield. Made me wonder if it was assembled somewhere else or assembled in Germany from foreign parts or some such nonsense. Maybe, maybe not.
It's not a bad knife but a little below what I expect from Boker.
