I have an older model 8586 stockman pattern pocketknife I'm carrying at the moment. It's a good working knife, takes and holds an edge real well. Can anyone out there provide me a time frame when this knife was produced? Thank you, Dale H.

Agree that the 1085 carbon steel from that era is impressive. My easiest knife to sharpen yet holds an edge like no other. Good luck in your research.

S.B., thanks for the input.Mine would be a variation of the 8585 & 8588. Closed length is the same, my blade pattern as follows: clip, sheepfoot, pen. I like the red jigged bone handles. Has been a good working knife!
