Will welcome any input on which maker made better folding (including lockback) pocket knives in the 1970's 1980's?? Puma said handmade in the period. I realize makers have changed hands multiple times and, as a result, wonder if the knives were better then and, if so, which of the two was better???? Thanks.

Back then? Boker's Premium lines like the Jagdmessers, etc..... were as good. Wingen was also a company that could match Puma comparing premium lines. Lots of smaller lines like Diefenthal, Weidmannsheil, etc... could match them too. Right Now, I think Boker does a much nicer job overall.

Boker vs. Puma?

I'm not sure about the 80's. Up till the late 70's I'd have said Puma was the better.

I've not handled any current Bokers or Pumas, but I think Boker still does a good job. Not sure about whether Puma does a good job these days or not.
