Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me, I've had it for 15years picking it up from a bootsales. Please see link above.

The brand is Boker and has been confirmed by Boker themselves. Below is the email.

Hi,

As best I can tell, based on the tang stamp, this is a ‘sportsman’s’ model, made sometime between 1869 – 1880. It is VERY RARE. Unfortunately, we do not have any other information as the factory was destroyed in 1944.

As the metal may be brittle at this point in its life, I would be careful NOT to open it much. Also, I would take care to keep it oiled to further prevent rusting and deterioration.

Hope this helps!

Boker have sent me to you guys for more info on this - Are these collectable? it's a really nice thing!

Many thanks
R

Hi F Foundthisknife

Welcome to the forum!

Any knife from the late 19th century would be collectible and desirable.
I cropped your image and inserted here for others to see, I didn't think you would mind.

I like the corkscrew!

As posted above, and even though you didn't ask, the forum requires a paid membership to allow asking about values. Just FYI.

Congratulations on the fine antique knife and enjoy looking around the forum.

You might like the Traditional section where knives like yours are celebrated.

He did ask, or I wouldn’t have posted the link. He went back and edited his post after he read the rules.

Thanks for posting his picture I’m looking forward to learning more about it.

No worries at all! I struggled myself to attach the image…. I understand the rules once I read. Just wanted to post it to see if anyone had seen one of had any info on this as even Boker themselves didn’t even know much 😁
