This blade ticks a whole lot of boxes on my checklist. Right size, not too obnoxiously thick at the spine, tip looks fine enough for drilling or piercing tasks, weight is decent, handle looks both comfy and big enough to move around on.

My issue comes from the giant ricasso and choil combination. I don't mind choils on larger knives, but when you make a 4.69" blade and only leave me 3.75" of usable edge I get a bit miffed. Anyone on here love the choil? I'm honestly trying to decide if it's a dealbreaker for me, because apart from that it looks like a really nice knife.

I don't know..... When I first saw the knife I liked it, but after really looking at it I am seeing what you are saying. Only reason I can come up with is it is a place for your forefinger so you can choke up more on the blade. But that choil could have been pushed back more to give more blade edge. I guess it is what the designer wanted and there must be a reason that he knows about!
