Just got mine in today, while it is a crazy looking but interesting folder, the clip appears to be an after thought, as so many clips often are, in this case I'd suggest they leave it off completely and leave the scale clean, the photos below were photo shopped to show how it would look without the three holes in there when the clip is removed, a nicer looking and better gripping folder. I believe that the proto type had a deep pocket carry type clip, if it still had that I may have left it on.

I did need to sharpen it up a bit, softened the shoulder of the edge bevel so it is now a little more convex than before, and boy did this sharpen up nice! chiseledge blades really slice!

While I have been carrying this in the watch pocket of my jeans, even there you do need to be careful on the tension you apply to the pivot as it could come open when you don't expect it to. I may end up making a sheath for this, not sure yet, or just a slip sheath for in pocket carry.

Some may arrive needing to be sharpened more, usually happens so not a big deal, once sharpened it really slices well, you can grip it just as you would normally or you can reach forward and hang onto the blade, almost like using a small scraping blade, since the blade is so wide it provides a nice place to grip directly onto the blade.

Nice knife, unusual knife so much so that people will take a second glance when seeing it, even non knife people can appreciate the different look of this folder! ;)

Gary, what steel is that? It looks like it might be able to give the CS mini tuff lite a run for its money for carving wood, but the height of the blade would hamper it on certain cuts. The belly might make the knife a good addition to the tuff though. I guess it comes down to how thick the blade is behind the edge and whether or not the absence of a lock might work out.

You have a CS knife right? How do they compare? Also, what does the Boker cost?

Thanks for the review. As always, I love your pics.

That has 440c which is actually a good steel and took a very nice edge too. I do not have the Tuff lite any longer, I do miss it but just not a collector and so I get, try and move on, some stay while most do move on.

as to this knife, after having it a couple days now, I agree with the designer, his intent is that it wasn't meant to be an EDC but more a shop knife and in that role I think it would be pretty handy knife. I was cutting up some para cord tonight and just the weight of the blade slipped down through the para cord like it wasn't there ;) but I'm torn and think I'll most likely be posting this up forsale later on tonight as a catch and release.

And thanks on the photo comment, I knew that this would make a nice photo from all the curves/angles and uniqueness of the knife altogether.

I like the look of this one, but I have the feeling that between the little "horn" on the blade and the prybar end of the tang there are too many pointy bits sticking out that might poke me while carrying it. Any issues with this while it's been in your watch pocket?

It wasn't as bad as you might think, but, the 'trick' was to put it in with the tang going in first and the blade spine is up, I tried carrying it the other way, spine down, not so clever ;) as when I went to draw it out with the lanyard it started to open in my pocket and let me tell you, once you have the edge set, you do NOT want to be in it's way!!! chiseledges are not too forgiving.

Gary, I try not to ask a question then bail without checking back. Sorry about that. Thanks for the reply. I like 440C just fine. I'll need to check one of these out soon. :)

I'm interested in buying one, I'll never buy a full custom but it looks like a good around the home knife
