A friend asked me about the Boker whittlers. I took a few pictures of both a bone Boker and a pearl Henckels. They are both supposed to be made by Boker. The lighting today was pretty ugly, but the pics still show what needs to be seen. NIB Pearl Henckels/NIB Bone Carbon Boker.

Now, I am going to let the pictures tell the story. One note is I always thought my Henckels had 440c from reading these forums. If you look at the included card it says 420. I have used my second copy of the Henckels pearl whittler and I have to say, 420 is good stuff. I don't care what anyone says. I have mine profiled THIN from my Kalamzoo and it has carved LOTS of hardwood.

I hope this is helpful.

If anyone has pics of their Boker or Henckels Whittlers, please add them in.

Thanks for showing this Kevin. I'm a big fan of the Böker Whittler, a rather overlooked knife but in my view has a lot of decency about it.

Nice 3 blade alternative to the Stockman, of course the blades are different but I like having a Pen and Cope blade. Feels very nice in the hand when using the master Clip blade. Tangs are low and not rough on the pockets either. I don't know what Böker carbon is but it sharpens up keenly and a good patina too. The handles I have are Apaloosa Bone (with union shield) Green Washboard Bone and Brown Washboard. These are really interesting and like able handles with 'waves' in them. fit and finish is good, W&T fine and not expensive either under 40 USD is possible.

I agree, they are great little knives and an absolute great value IMO. I have read the C75 is equivalent to 1075, but I read a lot, so don't take it as fact.

I own a green Henckel like smilin-knife shows above along with a red one also. I picked both up for under $30 a piece and think they are as good as any $50 whittler out there.

Here is my Beer Barrel Whittler. Sorry for the pic quality, it is a dreadfully dreary day outside.

I've been eyeing this same knife, so thanks for posting your pics (and thanks to Kevin for starting the thread).
I was attracted by the Beer Barrel Boker's since I first saw them. Wood keeps calling me...

S-K, is the first Henckels you show, that's sort of green, what they call their Helbraun bone, or the mountain moss. Both of those bones have a lot of appeal in the pictures I've seen.

For me, it was a win-win situation. I like beer, and I like knives. :very_drunk:

True. Do check out the Washboard Bone too, I think you'll like it. Grippy, contoured yet smooth.
