Boker Worker brown Micarta looks white?

My new Titan Worker was a great buy for Mrs. Santa this year, but the brown canvas Micarta has never been as uniform as I had expected it to be. Between the threads, especially in the middle of the scales, it is white looking. A coat of Renaisance wax helps - for a couple of days - as does a drop of gun oil. Both 'wear away' during pocket carry in a day or so. I even tried cleaning with a nylon brush and alcohol, then rubbing on dark Old World Scratch remover, left it 'wet' for a while, then buffed it - looked great - for a few days. I've never had this happen with other Micarta handled knives. To be blunt, worry over similar behavior has kept me from buying a Titan Defender Lightweight.

Ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

PS Initial worries over the Worker's 440C blade were unfounded. It took a bit on the Sharpmaker, but it took - and holds it pretty well - a decent hair-raising edge. If it just looke a tad better... more uniform in it's brown...

Well, I thought Terry might respond. The chalky appearance is disturbing. I accept some 'patina', or evidence from carry in a pocket knife's scales - even my one CRK, a 'StarTac' Umnumzaan, shows some evidence of 'carry' since I bought it 9/10. I did nix my Titan Liteweight Defender purchase, as well as my Savannah, fearing a similar 'chalky' look in their green/brown Micarta scales, something none of my Bark River Micarta handles, for example, have ever exhibited. The Titan Worker has gotten sorse - a drop of gun oil smeared around the scales still does darken it - but wears away in days.

hi stainz,
the micarta handle slabs ofe the worker all seem of different colour. Can't say why. I have seen som almost orange, light brown, dark brown, nearly grey. I haven't heard about white, but that seems no big surprise.
My own worker's slabs were light brown, after cleaning very light brown, in use they darkend. I have oiled them a few times, now they keep a medium brown colour.
