Anyone know where I can find bokken that have the same shape top to bottom... in that I mean most Bokken have angles cut in the wood to approximate a blade and then the handle part is oval... I'd like one that is either blade shaped or oval all the way up and down so that I can cut it to length and tape the handle to mark the exact length handle I want... I want to make a training sword for my Busse AK47 and most Bokken do not approximate it's dimensions. Thanks...

Nevermind... I found the Cold Steel Bokken. They have long enough handles and then I can just shorten the blade to where I want it... plus they're made of polymer so they should be quite durable and weather proof.

NO.. you've got to use wood, get an inexpensive white oak with really good grain structure, then get your dremel out with a sanding wheel, and take off any thing you don't want, I've tried the cold steels, hate 'um, a good bokken, is as lethal as swinging a baseball bat, only hopefully with much more finesse, To start why do you want a bokken? to me it's a weapon, can't carry a sword these days, also it's practice, and lots of it. sorry if I'm a bit harsh , bad week... G. P.S. the heavy and dense woods, the better.
