Hey Gossman fans, i'm thinking about ordering either the Estela inspired Bolo or the Golok for general forest caretaking and daily splitting of kindling. Basically i'd like to just carry it around as i walk through the woods near my home.

Anyone used one or both of these blades? What is your opinion, things you might change, choil or no-choil?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, I've only made two goloks. The bolo I made quite a few. The bolo has been well recieved by those that have them. I really like the design with what I've done with mine.

I've never used a golok, but I really like the Bolo a lot. It's an excellent chopper and slicer, not too heavy but a lot of cutting power. A choil might be nice but it doesn't really need one.

I put in my Bolo order, without choil. Now I need to choose a handle color, I'm thinking red/black linen micarta. This blade is gonna see alot of use!

The natural micarta scales are pretty good too. Black micarta with red liners would be a great choice!
