Just finished some initial chopping with my new 12 AK (my first HI khuk) and the bolster has become a bit loose. Should I be concerned? Whats the best way to fix it?

a quick fix would be to shoot some crazy glue into the bolsters opening if possible. that should melt the laha a bit and keep it from rattling :)

Benny, welcome to the forum! Not sure what you were chopping but the bolster shouldn't have come loose. If the quick super glue fix doesn't tighten it up and you are concerned about it, then drop Yangdu a line.

The bolster on these is mostly cosmetic and doesn't support the blade per se, but it shouldn't move on the blade or the handle.

I've had a few loose buttcaps that I fixed with glue easily, but only one loose bolster IIRC.

its probably attached with the laha stuff.... could also heat it up with a heat gun and see if you can get it soft enough to reattach.

I was chopping an old dead pine. Used some 5 minute epoxy and the wiggle is gone even after more chopping. BTW I recieved my KH 12" villager today (after over a month of waiting) and it's like comparing chicken fried steak to prime rib. I am so glad I snagged this 12" HI AK blem. Paid the same amount as my KH [SPAM DELETED] but got here super fast. There's no going back. H.I. till I die!

Benny...you just don't take hints, do ya?

Benny, you are welcome to HI forum, but I thought you'd learned about spam and links from the earlier thread, which is why I'd said 'no problem': ie, learning from mistakes.

I'm not going to feed spammers or trolls, but do believe everyone gets a chance to learn from mistakes.

I hope you've learned, Benny.

Nasty... cool your jets. No need to throw a red card. I'm not trying to get away with anything underhand or do anything against the rules. I wasn't aware of the rules at first, which is due to my negligence and I understand that. I'm just here to learn more about HI khuks and I'll mention nothing but HI khuks from here on out.
