If some Khukuri Bolster and Buttcap are made of brass...what metal composition are the silver ones?

"Nickel or German “silver” is actually a white alloy containing copper, zinc and nickel.

This type of metal was developed in Germany in the late 1800s as a less expensive substitute for silver."

Which I suspect is why HI calls it white metal, that way people don't get the impression that they are buying real silver.

Yall are right. afaik Some are brass tho.
FYI:

-The nickel silver can be brazed because it wont melt at high temp like brass. Brass has to be soldered because if you tried to braze it it would melt when the brazing rod starts to melt. Thats why the silver bolsters have yellow "solder" and the yellow bolsters have "silver" solder. Cosmetically backwards but it just has to be.

-Some of the Kothimoda sheaths are nickel silver but some are real four 9's elemental silver. Nickel silver is stronger but elemental silver is more valuable as precious metal if thats what you want it for.

White metal can be other alloys other than "German Silver/nickle silver". Military sometimes uses a white metal for high polish insignias, many of which are extremely brittle. The Ghurkha hat insignia is one of these. German silver will tarnish like brass and with age, the tarnish is such that you can't always tell that it is not brass. The insignias do not oxidize in this fashion, but stay relatively bright.
