Bolster marks in LB7 ?

This forum is real nice and interesting, thanks LT and all who keep it alive.

So, I´ve wondered about the markings on the blade side (bottom of knife) on the front left bolster of my LB7, it reads "A13097".

Anybody knows what it means ???.

I have other questions about old Schrades I´ve seen, might ask some more later.
 
I seem to recall that number is the knife's serial number. I always thought that the LB7 was individually serial numbered for registration purposes with the factory. I could be wrong but that is what I believe to be true.
 
It is a serial or registration number which was not unusual when they first started making them also clubs, groups, or organizations had them numbered. Often an organization would give a member a specific number so that each new release could be issued to the same member with the same number. This helped in sales because no member wanted to miss a new issue and not have a complete set with his number. Another reason was that It was a great security idea in case of theft of course it also gave Schrade a record in case of the need to replace or repair. LT
