Hey,
I just acquired some 1/4x1 in copper bar stock on the cheap and was planning on using it for bolsters and guards. I'm a little concerned about the hardness and scratch resistance. Is copper softer than 360 machining brass? Is there any way to heat treat/condition it so that it doesn't pick up scratches as easily?
As for brass bar stock, is there a definate grain direction in virgin stock 360 machining brass? I have found some 1x2 inch bar stock, and was wondering if I can cut it into 1/4 inch slices and use it like I would use 1x1/4 bar stock.
Thanks
James
