Bolster question

I'm having another of those senior moments and can't remember what this style of bolsters is called. I know the pinched part. It's not fluted but.....?

I always thought of fluted bolsters as being like those on this Tony Bose posted by the esteemed Mike Robuck.

I agree with you about fluted as it pertains to the bolster by Tony Bose; however, I'm not quite convinced about esteemed when it comes to Mike Robuck:rolleyes: Just kidding.

Yes, I thought ringed too.

I also assumed that the bolster shown on that TB knife was a Rat-Tail? But, I'm sure some terms are interchangeable.:confused:
