Bolster tabs?

I was looking over a borrowed knife when I noticed something about the bolsters. There are small tabs at the ends that are folded over into the liners. I can't recall ever seeing this on other knives I had, though that doesn't cover a lot of ground relatively speaking. I could not find obvious visual evidence that the other end of the bolster was pinned so I'm somewhat curious as to how/if that end is secured. This knife is from Imperial and I'm wondering if this construction method was more common to certain makers and also if it pegs the knife as being from a particular date range. Any info about bolsters like this would be appreciated, just for my general edification. :)

Here's a shot of the entire knife in case you're curious.

It was common to knives with one piece hollow bolsters and scales, Imperial, Richards, Jowika, Hammer Brand, etc. Though not all hollow scales are held in the same way.

Yup, very common on Schrades. I've popped off a few when restoring my granddad's old knives.

What is that silver tab on the back of the knife?
