I am about to finsh of my first knife
I am going to put a bolster on it
I am mixed up about what thickness
to get I know some will be removes when I grind ,the pins down and shape it
I want it to have a smooth flow from the bolster to the handle any input would be helpful
Thanks

I wouls like to help, but my 1st bolsters and only at this point started some were aound 3/8" stock and ended up around 1/8" bolsters. Not pretty. LOL

I use 1/8" stock on smaller knives and 3/16" on large knives up to and including swords. My normal width is 1", on very large knives 1-1/4".

Lmao Otha!!! Sounds like some of my projects. Sart out making a short sword and end up with a finn. I use 1/4" on my fixed blades, and WHEN I CAN MAKE A FOLDER, I'll use 1/8".
