Can anyone provide side-by-side examples of Habaki vs non-Habaki bolsters on kukris? This thing eludes me even more than the "cho creep" did at one time!

Someone sometime ago was complaining about the "Habaki bolsters", so I wonder what the heck are the "non-" ones and have these been used on HI kukris in the past?

Notice where the brass bolster meets the blade. There is a flat portion of the bolster that wraps around the blade about a quarter inch wide. That is the habaki.

Notice the bolster intersects the blade here at an angle without that flat band around the blade.

This one has a very slight habaki. maybe a few mm or for the most part id say it lacks a habaki.

Cho creep is the distance between the cho and the bolster.

Very little cho creep and lots of habaki.

Ah, thanks! Yeah, I was aware now what's up with the "creep" but for the life of me I couldn't tell this non-Habaki thing, and I am not that bad with googling...

Much appreciated!

He's a real asset for all newbies. Well I bet even your few extra months here have exposed you to more info than me, I'm still playing catch-up!
