Bolt Action Lock?

I saw the new Sage III prototype pic earlier this week and really like the look of it. However, I am not too sure exactly what the lock on it is. I have heard that it has been on gerbers in the past, but the only gerbers I own are lockbacks. Here is a picture of the lock in question:

Can anyone tell me how exactly it works? Is it kind of like the axis lock allowing you to flick the knife open and closed by depressing it? If not, then how does it work?

Without seeing how this one is designed it is hard to say exactly how it works. But it should basically be a pin or 'bolt' that is pushed forward by a spring. When the blade opens the pin engages or hole or cutout in the blade tang that locks it in place. It could be improved upon such as instead of a hole, wedging itself in between the blade and a stop pin. This would then transfer force to the stop pin and the liners instead of the pin alone taking all the force. I don't think we will know until they get made and shipped.

I like this one a lot as well and hopefully it will work very similar to the AXIS lock.
