Does anyone know where I can purchase oilskin by the bolt, or how to properly treat cotton to convert it to oilskin?

There are different types of oilskin .There is a source of a reproduction oilskin which is oil/tar painted on cotton canvas. Then there is vinyl coated flannel etc. Computer search 'oilskin'.
