bolt spike

this is a current project of mine, it was a bolt (HC) that i found on the coke battery at work. It originally way about 10'' or so long, and 1 1/8'' dia. I ran it down under the pow. hammer, then trued up by hand. It ended up stretching out to a whopping 17'' long, and is on a taper of about 1'' at the head to nothing at the point. the head is about 1 3/4'' across. I was thinking on either getting a portion of it engraved, or etching something on it, and it will have a mirror finish, and maybe a lanyard hole in the head.

not exactly a knife but definitely an implement capable of inflicting serious damage, and destruction.

haven't tried throwing yet. still need to harden and temper. thinking it would be more of a close combat tool/weapon. i do think it would make a great window buster, and with the weight behind it, would prob. have no prob running through a car door or tire. was thinking of maybe drilling and tapping the head to screw in some spikes, but i dont think it would be user friendly when held by the hex head end.
