Like the title says, which is the better of the two? Is Boltaron just better, no question? Or does Kydex still have something to offer that Boltaron doesn’t?
Thanks

Both are fine.

Kydex for me, gives a crisper more detailed impression.

I've heard that Boltaron is tougher, and can handle the extreme hot and cold better. And as some of my knives are going to military personnel, I'm concerned about this. What are your guys experience?
Thanks

There are far more kydex being carried by soldiers then boltron.

Both work fine, just use Boltron if you want. It really does not matter to much on function and gives better aesthetics

I posted the tech specs here once - the manufacturers put out technical data sheets

I believe that the Boltaron is cheaper, holds more moisture, but is available in more colours - camo and blaze orange were only in boltaron at the time I last looked at that.

don't trust my memory, go look up the tech specs

Kydex 100 and Kydex T

I believe you might have that reversed. Kydex is in way more colors then boltaron.

I use boltaron but it can be picky as it rolls up into a tight roll if you over heat it. I find that heating it slow in a pid controlled oven is a must.

Yes to the taco rolling

Maybe that's how it is now, but at that time I researched it, camo and orange were only available in Boltaron - that's going straight to the industrial sources.

The knife supply retailers were selling boltaron and calling it Kydex- some disclosed that some didn't

Maye that's all changed now.
A quick look shows a lot of camo patterns.
