I just registered today to see if I could learn anything about my knive.
I have a Bomb Tech knive. #0155 manufactured by Schrade. I'm a member of the IABTI (International Assoc. of Bomb Techs and Investigators). A little history on the knive, there were several guys involved with the design, 2 NYS Troopers, one the head of the bomb squad and another stationed in Middletown (bomb tech). Also an FBI SA from Ithaca, NY (bomb tech) and I'm sure there were others. The knive is 12" long overall, with a 7" blade. One side of the blade is a smooth edge, the other side, from the blunt tip (used for prying or a straight edge screw drive) up 2" is a fine serade. The remaining 5" is a rough serade. On the smooth side of the blade where it meets the handle is a small sharpened "V" notch used to strip wire. The end of the handle has a claw for prying and the other end can be used as a hammer, this is also where the knive number appears. On one of the flat sides of the blade is a 7" measuring scale in 1/4" increments. On the other side is the bomb tech insigna and the words, BOMB TECH. Special Edition. The sheath also has the logo on the front of it. It has a covered pocket which nicely stores a Leatherman Tool also a pouch for bomb tech wire crimper/cutting tool. There is loop for your belt and a tie for your leg. There is also and electrical tape holder off the bottom. I believe it was in May, 1994 that we purchased our knives for $50.00 a piece. I know several guys who had bought them at that time, some bought 2, one for display and one to use on the job. Mine was for display only. Once I figure this website out I'll post some pictures of it.
