Hello Everyone, this thread is just for fun so don't take it to seriously. The first time I saw the movie Jaws as a young boy I new right then that I was fu**** as far as ever swimming in the ocean again. Well when I saw my first Bond movie ( Spy Who Loved Me), I new right then that I loved Q's gadgets, Bonds weapons, and without question all of the fine women. Well in the not so distant past I have seen the micro light, tactical knives, sick watches, Shelby's camera, Strider Axe and GB and everything else one could imagine. My question is? How many of you like those Bond movies and feel Q's gadgets might have just a little bit influeneced you as you got older and bought all of your toys. As always thanks EMR

At 240,000 miles, my Ford spewed oil all over the highway and I did not ever have to throw a switch!!!!:p :p :p

And I have a firearm that when you pull the trigger, NOTHING happens for about five seconds, then the hammer falls....Does that make me a 007 wannabe?????

Hi Wolfmann, thanks for the reply. This thread was actually for my son and his friends who are all Bond fanatics. You have now joined the club with your state of the art spy equipment. Based on the number of responses we got I guess guys my age like the women and not the gadgets. Thanks EMR

Hi Shelby, I like all of the Omega watches they are very well made. I was in Comp-USA today and I saw your camera. It is not as big in person as it looks in the pictures you took of yours. I wish I had the money to buy the one I saw, but no such luck. Thanks for the reply. EMR

Count me in!
Q rocks.
Sean Connery is Bond forever!
How many different Q's has there been?
Isn't the newest one different?
I think I heard the original passed away recently.
Kind of cool that there has been less Q's than Bond's!
Great thread!

Hi Mick and Duane, Thanks for the response. I was starting to worry that people might have thought I was a little light in the pants for this post. Anyway STRIDER KNIVES are the best. Thanks EMR

Submariner, PPK 7.65mm, Sea Island cotton shirts, Tattinger champagne, only thing I don't have is an Aston Martin! Real influence on me. -Dick

I have to be a fan, my mother-in law was in one;).

"The Man with the golden gun", she is one of the HK detectives niece's (the one with the long hair)

Best mother-in-law I could have asked for; 3 black belts & still kicks a**, great cook, kindest women I have ever met, and dosn't mind me sitting at her dinner table with a firearm on my hip:D

Well, I am in NO way slick with the ladies, but I did develop a British accent for a number of years by watching too much British movies and trying to be a "refined gentleman." It mind sence back when I was a teenager.

And too answer the original post, yes I do believe Q and all his nice toys played a part in me being a gadget freak.

Desmond Llewlyn (sp?) played Q and was old as dirt-actually died in a car crash I believe. They knew his time was up and had John Clease come in as "R" as his understudy in the last film.

"Q" was the only Bond character that was never played by any other actor throughout all the films.

cheers,
Derek
