Bonded vs non-bonded thread??

Hello ya'll. Dave and the rest of ya'll have been very helpful to me and I do have a question. I've had bonded Poly thread recommended as the thread to use for sewing, and it does work good. Remember, I've got that Chinese ShoePatcher machine I'm playing with. I installed a servo motor so don't have to hand crank to sew. I'm currenting using the standard industrial sewing needles (round shank). Size #22 needle with bonded poly #207 thread for top, and #138 bonded poly for bottom. The stitches just seem better with 138 bottom than with 207 on bottom - and the bobbin doesn't hold much 207 thread, just barely enough to do a sheath.

The machine sews good with non-bonded poly thread, and I can use #277 top and 207 bottom just fine with non-bonded poly. Is there any real advantage to bonded thread once the sewing is complete in final product?

I do like bonded because the thread doesn't unravel while threading the needle.

Thanks again to all for comments and suggestions.
