once more I have a question: I found the second one oft these 110s.

Do you have an Idea what the scales are made up of?

In the surface are some little grooves as wood has.

Both knives are:

Many thanks for your anwers,

TLF, I also think that it is a kind of bone, but i'm not shure. It looks somewhat blue and that is, I think, not typical for bone.

Best,
Haebbie

It looks like bone that has been died gray. Buck put out gray bone for awhile. Nice knives Haebbie. I've always liked those gray bone Bucks. I want one in 110 and 500 ;).

as JB suggests, it's gray bone, when you take bone down that far it sometimes reveals the pores.

Cow bone stained gray. All the jig Bone and smooth bone 110s and 112s marketed in the late 1980's and early 1990s were stained cow bone. Colors include White, Gray, Red, Green and Brown.

It sure very attractive smooth grayish-blue bone!

Hold on to them is my advice to you..

I like these knives too. The nickel silver and the bone (I think that is it) applies together very well. And this model rounds up my 110 collection pretty good. But I only need one of them. The other will be sold again.

Many thanks for your answers!!

Best,
Haebbie

by the way: I didn't find that knife neither in the Buck catalog nor in the sprcial edition list. Isn' it listed anywhere?
