My first impression of this knife is the amazing fit and finish. I can now understand the difference in a knife made by Sgt. Khadka.
The handle fit in my hand perfectly and the ring was right between my middle and index finger without any discomfort.
Before I did any chopping I compared it visually to an M43 and I can tell you that the blade is much wider and more blunt. I think that the Sgt. got it right this time comparing the photo's of the original BC that HD posted.
The sheath is a very dark black and fit the knife just right. The karda is a little different than usual in that it also is much wider and more blunt.
I took it outside and started testing it against a fresh cut log. It is definitely a great chopper. It seemed to go into the log deeper than the M43. Probably because the edge of the blade is much wider.
After sinking the blade into the log a few inches, I rocked it back and forth to check the blade for strength and I was able to move a 100 lbs. log almost without any flex.
I chopped up some smaller branches around 1 inch thick with one swipe. Overall I would say that this was a very light test and I'm sure someone else will put theirs through a much more rigorous one, but I just wanted to get something out there.
I'm sure Yangdu will sell as many of these as the Sgt. will make. It is my favorite blade since I started collecting HI khuks just a short time ago.
