What are the chances that we'll see a Boney Meaner Street in the future?

Sure would look good next to my BAD.

Or is the Meaner Street as close as we'll get.

The Leaner Meaners were pretty thin, as was the 2007 SE.

I think they should. Then you would have a matching satin full height flat grind, with the higher hardness. I think the extra blade length would be nice. Sometimes when slicing apples etc with the AD, I do wish for just a bit more blade length (ie slicing a block of Tillamook chease)

In this length I actually prefer the Leaner MS to a Boney MS. The MS is getting into the size range where it is more than a slicer and I like a bit of extra beef.

I'm with Bigfattyt. I'd like it for food prep/eating steak or camping food knife and I'm dam sure it would rock as an apple knife.

also I don't want to have one of my meaners modded

An Leaner would make a good substitute for a "Boney" MS. .125 is OK for that length (4") blade, but I'd feel better with .150.

BAD = .125
AD = .150
LMS = .150
HD = .200
MrS = .220
OD = .350

And then there are the flat ground at .170. The 2007 SE, DC/Black G-10 and most CS now days are the .170's.

I agree, .150 is about as thin as I would want one.

My custom shop Meaner (flat ground) measures .170, and my sabre ground black coated w/ black and tan measures .200.

Yep, all the newer Sabers are .195-.200, and all the more recent flat ground is around .170 (recent/newer meaning past two years)

edit- I call the .170's Tweener Meaners, Tweeners or TwMrS:p

+1:thumbup:

I'd be all over that. Satin with green linen....oh HellFreakingYeah!:cool:

I've gotten very picky in my old age but you could count me in for a leaner meaner.
Satin/black!
