Here in Italy, we substitute the sausage gumbo for a glass of cognac, and the khukuri for a woman...! ;) :D Dan :)
 
Hey newawleans, good to see someone else from Louisiana. I'm on the west central side of Louisiana.

I tried the offshore work for 3-4 years as a roustabout, Able bodied seaman, and then crane operator for Reading and Bates Drilling, out of Broussard. I was on a drilling tender that never stopped rocking and rolling. To much of a wimp and quit, I hated being gone two weeks at a time.

My dad was old oilfield and raised in the Abbeville area and thought all the boys of the family would just be born into the oilfield work like he and his siblings had been.

Still have lots of family near Lafeyette and Carencro.
