Ok..so I have a lot of low end knifes. Nothing over $100. I would like to treat myself to something nice with part of my bonus this year. I love playing with flipper style knifes. So that's what I'll be looking at. I would like to stay around $200 but will go higher if I fall in love. 3-3.5 inch blade. NOT ASSISTED. Obviously a flipper. Liner or frame lock. Good steel...will be a user (no real heavy tasks). Carbon fiber, g10, not all ti handles. Looking for something smooth that flips easy and fast. Thanks for the consideration!

ZT 0566 (deassisted), 0350 (deassisted) 0801 (if you ever decide you might be okay with solid ti), Spyderco Domino, Southard, CRKT Eros, Boker Kwaiken, Brous Bionic, Kizer 3404, Benchmade 300 (although a weaker detent due to Axis), Hogue EX-02, just to start you off.

Thanks guys! Now goes hours of youtube videos and reviews! Great start so far, I'm definitely up for looking at less common blades, too!

I have more ZT models than I don't have, and this is the one to get. ZT0562 is, by far, my favorite...much better ergonomics than any of the others (except maybe the 0200, which is a big beast).

The 0801 is an awesome flipper too, but I like my 0562 a bit better due to styling/design. Functionally, they both have the KVT bearing system, which will make the blade shoot out pretty quickly.

Kershaw Skyline S30V & carbon fiber. For $220 you can get both versions.

That skyline is an uuuugly knife, lol.

I can second the Brous Blades Bionic and the ZT 0562, both high quality knives from very reputable companies.

Well I can certainly agree that both are quality knives... :p
I asked around here about Brous once and discovered opinions vary wildly.
But hey, for <$200, why not take a chance? If nothing else, you probably won't see many others in your local area.

I think I'll stay away from the skyline...The brous is cool but I don't think I like the handles all that much. ZT I'm on the fence about. Not a huge fan of the style of the 0562 though I'm sure I'd love it once I played with it. There's no knife stores that I know of in my area where I can go and play with stuff :(

That can be discouraging when you're on the fence. Just buy from a reputable site and if you don't like the way it feels in hand, send it back in exchange for your first runner-up.

Yeah I'm hoping to find a few more options that I've never seen before or am not thinking of...that's why I posted this well ahead of the purchase!

Hougue E02 flips really nice. 2 sizes available.
154 CPM blade steel, G10 slabs, solid American made knife.
Good luck on your hunt.
Cheers

My Bionic has been stellar. My only beef is with the clip. One screw means it has some wiggle.

You say in your original post nothing over $100 but then go on to say you'd like to stay under $200. We are confuzzled.

I think he is saying that he doesnt own any knives worth more than $100, and he wants to treat himself to a knife worth closer to $200.

I am all in on the kershaw/ZT KVT system. 801 and 562 are great.

Love my 0801. Only ZT I own currently. Sold my 0350TS. Very excited to get my mail today and check out the 0770CF!

Yeah sorry guys...I meant I don't have anything over $100 :/

It looks like I definitely need to try a ZT, seems to be a constant staple.
