I have been trying to find a good book to get me up to speed with Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2003. Specifically, writing MFC based GUI applications. I've got a huge learning curve to overcome and need some help. I am really an ADA programmer but, the times they are a changin' ;)

I need to write a GUI that will interface with a proprietary board via Ethernet to pass commands and data both directions. It has to be written in Visual Studio.Net 2003 in C++ using MFC's to drive the graphical display. I have some crude code running simplistic stuff so, I'm not a total newbie to this stuff but I have a long ways to go.

I have read so many worthless reviews on Amazon and wasted so much time clicking on stale Visual Studio books that I am a tad frustrated. It seems like if you are a web designer you have a few books to choose from but, everyone else is left to struggle alone.

If anyone has a link to a recommended book, I would appreciate it very much. Book quality and information content are what counts. Cost is distant secondary factor so, don't be shy recommending a $70 paperback if that's the book with the content I need. TIA!
