Hey guys! Well the wifey just bought me Aton Edward's book "Preparedness NOW" for Christmas. She said the reason she bought it was because he seemed to deal w/ a lot of situations considering children and because he seemed to deal w/ "urban" survival. We have small children and live in Los Angeles so that is important of course. Anyway, any thoughts on this book. I'll start reading it tonight but wanted to see if anyone else has and what their thoughts on it were. Thanks. :)

P.S. > I did a search here but couldn't find anything on it.

Seems to have gotten some good reviews on Amazon. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts after you've gone through it Tyrkon :) Might have to add this one to the ever growing collection.

I saw an interview with the author. He seemed to have a very pragmatic approach to urban survival. One of the things he recomended that I thought was smart was a smoke hood for large structure fires.

martoonisotu: thanks for the kind words. She is a rock.

And thanks guys for the input or comments thus far. I just got to the chapter on building your BOB and E-Kit. This is the fun part where I get to go shopping for all the gadgets and essentials I am missing. Starting with a good pack. And I have seen tons of awesome threads here where members give a detailed list of theirs. Time to take notes.

I look forward to hearing what you think Bro! I'm reading Patriots right now. In-laws and wife have finally started to take my requests for preparedness items seriously. The Patriots came from my mother-in-law, at it's currently inflated cost. Your book sounds very good. I'll have to get a copy.
