I'm halfway through a book by Glenn Heggstad called Two Wheels Through Terror . It's a pretty good story of a trip through South America that went bad. He ended up a prisoner/hostage in Columbia. It goes into what he had to do physically and mentally to survive captivity. Pretty good book so far...
